Lisa Grogan-Green Support Masood
Don Valley West resident and Co-Chair, Go Green Youth Centre

I am pleased to support my friend Masood Alam in his bid to become our Ward 11 Toronto District School Board trustee. I have known Masood for more than a decade in his various roles as past chair or member of the Thorncliffe Park Public School and Valley Park Middle School parent councils. He is currently serving as Treasurer for Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute’s School Council. Few people work as hard as Masood does to always put the importance of academic excellence and student achievement first among his various roles advocating for others within the TDSB and broader community. I have been inspired by Masood’s deep commitment to a number of initiatives that have brought real benefits to the Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park communities, from supporting students and families in need through the annual Neighbours’ Night Out events, annual toy drives, and back to school backpack events to advocating for youth and community safety with the City of Toronto and Toronto Police Service. Masood has earned the respect of many community leaders and stakeholders across Don Valley West and I am confident that he will act in the best interests of all students and families as our Ward 11 Trustee.

Masood Alam is a well-known community leader in Thorncliffe Park. He founded the Canadian Community Service Organization (CCSO) in 2020, which organizes local food drives, toy drives, and a back to school event to distribute hundreds of backpacks and school supplies to children in Thorncliffe Park, involving dozens of volunteers and youth in the community. Masood has served on Parent Council Boards of the schools attended by his children in Thorncliffe Park for many years, and he is an engaged and active parent of three. This experience has given him first hand knowledge of the local schools and the challenges they face. If elected as Ward 15 TDSB Trustee, Masood would bring his community service leadership skills, extensive experience as a parent, and parent council representative, to represent the community at the TDSB board.
